Challenge:
When AKQA wanted to push the creative envelope of their Rich Media Ad campaign to promote the launch of Age of Empires III: The War Chief expansion, they called upon us to ensure the success of the overall executions. Six (6) Rich Media banners were required and all were designed to challenge users to interact with the War Chief within the banners. With extensive previous experience working on the Xbox 360 brand and the AKQA creative team, we were brought in to provide overall technical consultation, interactive design, as well as the final executions.
Result:
Six (6) innovative units were created and all were meant to push the envelope of the overall Rich Media Ad platforms. One of the first full-screen takeover ads in the market, these units broke frame with the War Chief's tomahawk "smashing" the user's screen and were published on various gaming sites including IGN.com and receive high praises from the Xbox 360 marketing team.
