Challenge
G4, a leader in video games and television programming needed a way to reach its audience of male viewers (ages 17-36) using the iPhone that had just begun its rise in popularity. The1stMovement was asked to develop a Web App (no iPhone Apps at the time!) that could be easily updated with online content from their G4TV.com site and its offerings of news, reviews, photos, video, as well as its schedule of television programming. It was a trailblazing time. We needed to break new ground on the mobile device platform yet build on and be consistent with G4’s branding.
Result:
Architected from the ground up, we developed an iPhone Web App that could be used for all Comcast Entertainment Group properties including E! Online. Our work earned us the distinguished 2009 Webby Award - People's Voice Award in the category of Mobile Entertainment. The Award, voted on by savvy Internet users, allowed us to beat many prestigious competitors including entries from Discovery Channel and NBC.
