A UNIQUE COMPANY, A UNIQUE CHALLENGE.

DaVita Healthcare is one of the largest kidney care providers in the United States. Known for a high level of patient care, DaVita prides itself on its strong company culture which it sums up with the words: “We are a community first, a company second.”

But finding applicants who fit in with DaVita’s unique vision was proving a challenge: With over 50,000 employees (or teammates as DaVita likes to call them) working coast-to-coast DaVita’s recruitment center can be looking to fill as many as 2,000 positions nationally at any given time. DaVita was receiving thousands of applications daily, but very few were direct hits, so to speak.

Partnering with DaVita we asked, how can we create a career site that sets itself apart from the thousands of faceless job sites that are out there, a site that attracts not only more applicants, but applicants who are the “right fit”?

CULTURE IS THE DIFFERENTIATOR.

Since DaVita’s unique culture is one of its key differentiators, we knew we needed to build a corporate career site unlike any other. After thorough market research and stakeholder interviews with employees and end users, we decided the DaVita Careers Site would go beyond basic job postings conveying the rich history and culture of the brand.

To accomplish this we designed a new site with many tailor-made features, including the Our Story section, which featured a fun scrolling timeline of the brand's history, with rich video and article content. The DaVita Corporate Mission, Vision and Core Values were also placed front and center, as well as awards won, buzz and blogs.

We also created a masonry-driven aggregator that could be placed throughout the website for users to explore. This module offered a view inside DaVita’s walls by featuring content and posts for their patients, for each other and for the world, and included anything from social content, to articles, videos and press releases.

The site also needed to be integrated directly with Taleo, a third-party online recruitment enterprise solution DaVita uses to add, filter, and process applications. We created new API functionality so users could review job descriptions directly on the careers site, rather than being pushed to a third party application system. The site also featured location-based geo-population and IP auto-populated searches to return more relevant job postings on almost any page within the site.

QUANTITY AS WELL AS QUALITY.

The DaVita Careers website has far exceeded all goals and benchmarks. Users are staying on the site longer (there has been a 49% increase in the average page views per visit) and are viewing more pages in total (there has been a 259% increase in average monthly pageviews). And most importantly, DaVita is getting more qualified leads who fit with their dynamic, community-oriented culture.
